Olde Tymers are handcrafted cedar strip wooden boats made from time tested designs, custom designs, and original designs. Constructed of hand selected Western Red Cedar and trimmed in various hardwoods such as mahogany, ash, cherry and walnut. In addition to the beauty that a wooden boat naturally offers, Olde Tymers are made with a fiberglass "skin" inside and outside the hull providing added durability and strength with a non-skid surface inside the boat. Some models also have ribs added to stiffen the hull. Another important aspect of an Olde Tymer is the weight. Many of our designs are perfect for the backpacker/boater and the solo boater who doesn’t always have an extra set of hands to get the boat on and off the car top. We make pack boats under 20 pounds and our tandem canoes are incredibly light for their size. All accessories are made by Olde Tymers such as hand-caned seats and back rests, cherry, ash, basswood and maple oars, paddles and carrying yokes.
